Arabic formal writing follows specific conventions for openings, closings, and register. Mastering these marks you as a competent B2-level writer.

Letter Opening Formulas

  • حَضْرَةَ الأُسْتَاذِ المُحْتَرَمِ – To the respected Professor
  • إِلَى مَنْ يَهُمُّهُ الأَمْرُ – To whom it may concern

Closing Phrases

Avoiding Common Errors

At B1–B2, students often make errors in dual forms, broken plurals, and i'rab (case endings). Focus particularly on the genitive case after prepositions and the accusative after verbal sentences.
